The Role

We're hiring a Notion Consultant to work directly with our clients as a 1099 independent contractor. Fully remote. You'll own discovery, design, build, training, and ongoing support across your assigned engagements. Our average client relationship is 11 months, so this is relationship work, not project work. You manage the arc.

As an independent contractor, you control the manner, means, timing, and location of your work, subject to client deadlines, meeting commitments, and agreed deliverables.

What You'll Do

• Discovery & requirements. Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and workshops. Translate goals into documented requirements, priorities, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
• Solution architecture. Design workspace structures, database models, permissions, dashboards, and navigation patterns that scale with the client's operating model.
• Build & implementation. Build and customize Notion systems — workspaces, databases, dashboards, formulas, native automations, agents, and migrations. Test before handoff.
• AI & agents. Design, build, and deploy Notion agents and AI-enabled workflows inside client systems. Identify where AI genuinely accelerates the client's operations and where it doesn't. Document agent behavior, dependencies, and use cases so clients can maintain and extend them.
• Training & enablement. Run client training sessions and workshops. Create documentation, onboarding materials, best-practice guides, and Loom walkthroughs tailored to the client's technical proficiency.
• Client communication. Serve as the assigned client-facing contact. Run meetings, send recaps, manage expectations, surface risks early.
• Support & optimization. Resolve client questions and issues through written guidance, Supercut videos, or lightweight updates. For complex issues, scope options and align before proceeding.
• Delivery coordination. Use NS systems to track work, document decisions, and provide reasonable status visibility on completed work, next steps, and blockers.

Skills You'll Need to Bring

• 3+ years of client-facing experience in consulting or professional services
• Advanced Notion expertise, including:
  • Complex database design and relational structures
  • Workspace architecture and permissions management
  • Native automation and formula creation
  • Team onboarding and change management
• AI fluency for Notion implementations, including:
  • Designing and deploying Notion agents tied to client workflows
  • Understanding Notion AI's capabilities and its limits
  • Writing clear prompts and agent instructions that hold up in production
  • Knowing when AI is the right answer and when a database, formula, or human process is better
• Proven track record managing multiple client relationships simultaneously
• Strong communication and presentation skills with C-level executives
